We just returned from a quick trip to Cozumel where our friend Sergio kept recommending this place that makes “great” hamburgers. Now personally that isn’t our first choice for any meal; but I also felt the need to reminded him of where we live. I mean this would be like him recommending a BBQ or Tex-Mex restaurant. Come on, we live in the great state of Texas and know quite a bit about amazing hamburgers, BBQ, and of course Tex-Mex.
Sonja and I eventually caved in and said, “ok, ok, lets go.”
When we arrived I received the menu that had a bunch of burger options based on ingredients from each country. This was a really cool idea; but we still questioned if the burgers would hold up to our standard back home.
As I read through the list of burger options the one that caught my eye was the “Burger Master.” It held not just one or two patties; but THREE patties together. It was like a full kilo of MEAT! I thought to myself well why not. I ordered it and got to select my three ingredients… guacamole, ham, and chorizo… yes more MEAT!
This thing came out and was ridiculously huge. It was a pain to eat at first. As I took my first few bites I was completely blown away! This place made what I would consider one of my top five burgers of all time! The patties literally melted in your mouth. It honestly reminded me of a place my dad used to take me to when I was younger.
I share this with you because we all have filters to which we see, hear and taste the world. These filters are built from every moment we have experienced. They can unlock and pave the way for new are what can either create opportunities for new experiences or hold us back
it is easy to have “filters” that we process all things through. These filters are based on things we have experienced in the past. In order to experience new things we have to throw away some of those mental barriers. This allows ourselves to see the world again through a child’s eyes.
