Practical to Tactical Core Exercises - Part One
Larry St Clair
This series is one of our oldest training formats that will offer you solo and partner training opportunities. You can do it anywhere and without any equipment needed. Best of all, it will help you develop a functional core that is practical in everyday life; while also becoming more tactical in self-defense and martial arts training.
This first set is a solo drill we call "Walking On The Back." It creates a rocking chair effect that helps with your mobility as well as core development. You can start with a 60-second interval as either a warm-up or even a cool down. If your core is strong, you may extend the time longer or even work one round circling to the left and one round circling to the right. Another great way to intensify the drill is to lower your legs closer to the floor, which applies more strain on your entire abdomen, from upper to lower regions.
